Come visit Yamhill with a celebration of writing inspired by Beverly Cleary!
This little town holds a big story! Before Beverly Cleary wrote Ramona Quimby, Henry Huggins or a single word of Dear Mr. Henshaw, she was a little girl in Yamhill, Oregon.
Her first childhood home is still here. The church her family attended. The general story where neighbors gathered. Small things that found their way into big books. On June 6th, you can walk the streets she walked. The Walk with Beverly is a self- guided tour through downtown Yamhill. Just about a mile, marked with signs pointing out the real places behind the stories.
Map included at the event. Boots optional. Sense of wonder required.

This is exciting to announce the new non-profit that has been created from the volunteer efforts of making this event and contests for children. I look forward to sharing more soon!
